Audition Information

The Anglican Singers are accepting auditions for all adult voice parts, especially Bass and Baritone. We especially welcome committed, young singers as Trebles. The Anglican Singers provide a mentored opportunity for young singers to extend their music skills and to become acquainted with the choral repertoire of the English tradition.

Auditions are by appointment only and comprise a straightforward evaluation of musicality, voice quality, range, and basic sight-reading. Singers should select a short piece (or portion of a piece), preferably from the classical choral repertoire, and be prepared to sing it in their own vocal range. All auditions will be accompanied. An extra copy of your selection will be required in advance of the audition.

Individuals interested in auditioning for The Anglican Singers should complete the on-line audition application to obtain an audition time. |Audition Application|

Audition date and time will be determined by the number of applications. Additional times may be arranged at the discretion of the Director.

Information for potential members:

  • The Anglican Singers is a select, independently organized performing arts organization dedicated to perpetuating and presenting the English choral tradition as found in the Anglican service of Choral Evensong. No affiliation with the Anglican or any other church is required for membership. The only prerequisite is a love of the type and style of music that we sing.
  • Membership in The Anglican Singers is based upon the needs of the group and is at the absolute discretion of the Director. Items considered in accepting singers to the group are availability of places in the appropriate vocal part, section and group balance, and total size of the group.
  • The Singers rehearse from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM each Tuesday from September through May. The group normally performs 6-8 times during this period including one or more venues outside of the local area.
  • The Anglican Singers requires a solid commitment from members to attend every rehearsal and performance. Anticipated absences must be discussed in advanced with the Director. Members failing to meet attendance requirements may be dropped from the roster.
  • Members are expected to learn their music outside of normal rehearsal time.
  • Members are required to pay $100 annual dues and travel costs. Dues are waived for first year Trebles. Additional contributions to assist in supporting the group are always welcome. Scholarships and travel cost assistance may be available to qualified members based upon demonstrated need.
  • Music and vestments will be provided by and remain the property of The Anglican Singers.
